Day Twenty One

Today we collected our car, this is good as we are now more mobile and less reliant on borrowing Bill and Carols car, not that that has ever been an issue but it gives us more flexibility. The car runs well and is in good condition so we are very happy with it. We nipped back to Glebe and re-signed our lease as the real estate agent had made an error on it. Had a quick lunch at another pub in Glebe, this one was a bit better than the Excelsior.

This afternoon we have been battling with sorting out things like utilities for house and phone and internet. It seems I have no 'footprint' in Oz, what I mean by that, I don't have a credit history or job, so no job = no credit card = very difficult to sign up for things. Unlike blighty
where debit cards can be used to set up regular payments, when signing up on line here everyone takes payments from credit cards. Everything is therefore going in Kate's name so far.

The other annoying thing is websites say sign up in 2 mins but when you get to purchase point its always ' a rep will now call you to finalise your purchase'

Ah well we get round it somehow.

I'll post pics of house and car up in next few days.

I may be out of internet connection for a few days, maybe a week so my updates here may be periodic I'm afraid. i will write up each day and post when I have access.

This is because tomorrow we move to Glebe!
