Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty Three

Saturday 27th October

During this morning I helped Bill and Carol get the garden back into order after the new fence was completed yesterday. This involved putting back up trellis panels, moving the shed back into position etc.

Once that was all done Kate and I did some shopping and had lunch at the chase. We got cracking on Christmas shopping and I got a few clothes for my upcoming trip to Perth on Monday.

In the afternoon we went to Kennards to get some bits and pieces and also found our missing Apprentice DVD. We relaxed at home early evening and then cooked up a BBQ.

Finally finished off the day with some TV, including you guessed it some Apprentice.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty Two

Friday 26th October

Got up early this morning and met Marcus and Louise at the event Finish in Mosman. We then drove back to Checkpoint 7 and walked the last section of the trail to understand it and figure out why some people are getting lost. A few changes to make for 2013. We covered 11km in just over 2.5hours so not bad going.

Headed back into work and wrapped up a few bits and pieces before heading home. Kate got home after a long day of work and final handover from person she is taking over from. We had Dominos pizza for dinner and I crashed out tired at about 10pm.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty One

Thursday 25th October

I drove into work. Most of day was final prep for our awards night tonight. At 4pm we headed down to the venue at our global sponsors office. A nice place on 14th floor on George St.

Spent an hour setting everything up and then first guests arrived. Awards night is easy for me, I don't need to speak or do much at all apart from set up and tear down.

We packed up by 8.30pm, headed back to office to drop off gear, I picked up the car and drove home.

Some pics from the event

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty

Wednesday 24th October

Bill dropped me to the station as he needed his car today which was no drama to me. A fairly quiet day at work so not much to report.

She seems to have settled in well in this contract job which is great.

After work we all met in the city to go to a screening of Taken 2. Bill got offered some comp tickets from Amex to the Gold Class Cinema. Great experience with big seats but crap movie.

We all drove home and were back in Willoughby by 9.30.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Nine

Tuesday 23rd October

I spent much of the morning on the road checking out potential Checkpoints in the early part of the trail, I did this after driving Kate to work.

I checked out some places near Hornsby and Berowra.

In the afternoon I worked at home keeping an eye on emails.

Drove back out Belrose to get Kate just after 5pm.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Eight

Monday 22nd October

Kate's 1st Monday morning for a while. Was hard to get up this morning after the neighbours had a late night party, they were screaming loudly until midnight.

Bill and Carol also got away early as they were heading north to play golf in a tournament (Bill that is). I was last to leave the house this morning.

I was last to leave and got into work at 9.30ish. A slow day and I knocked off at 3.30 to head home. Got back to let the animals back in the house, they were not happy as it was particularly cold, wet and windy in Sydney today.

Headed back out to Kennards ot get some bits out of storage and then did some food shopping for dinner.

Got home and Kate arrived home around the same time. We had a steak meal for dinner and spoke to Chris in Adelaide for a while. Spent some time catching up this blog, must get back into the daily habit!

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Seven

Sunday 21st October

Nice to have a relaxing start to the day. Once we got ourselves going we went for another walk along section 7 of the trail, we walked 8km or so which was good.

Came home and spent some time helping Bill and Carol move stuff in the garden in preparation for the new fence being installed on Tuesday this week. We also put some rubbish including the black leather sofa out on the street for collection in the council clean up day. This is an aussie thing where council will collect all large household items 3 times a year. Seems to work well although there is an increase of people with trailers driving the streets scavenging for items before council get to them.

Had a pasta dinner and spoke to UK on Skype in the evening.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Six

Saturday 20th October

Ah god bless the weekend....

A morning around the house having brekkie and reading the papers. We did some more shopping in the sales, Kate got three more tops and saved over 100 bucks in the process.

Carol spent the day out at her 50 year class reunion in the city. She brought her friend Liz home for dinner in the evening and we knocked up an Italian Anti Pasto feast.

Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Four

Thursday 18th October

Took train into work. Today was the last day of the contract of our fund raising assistant Merryn, We took her out to lunch at a local cafe which was nice. Over lunch Louise our Marketing Coordinator, one third of the core team announced she was leaving in 4 weeks. Another great loss to the team, so we'll have to recruit a replacement now.

In the evening we went to the Night Noodle Markets held in Hyde Park as part of the Sydney Food Festival, was very nice. Kate came over on train to join me and those from work. Kate and I headed home at about 8pm as it was getting quite cold.

Kate has agreed to take a new job starting on December 17th after this contract work completes. Great news for her.
