Day One Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Seven
Monday 26th January
A national holiday in Lieu of Australia day falling on a weekend yesterday.
After getting up in Willoughby we had a lazy morning sitting around in the garden doing the crossword and doing lots of washing. We spoke to Adelaide around lunchtime.
After some lunch we headed home to Lane Cove.
We went for a walk around the streets and checked out some of the nearby reserves.
Spent the evening in front of the telly, The Block has recommenced and so has my Kitchen Rules, the first we both like, the latter is Kate's thing, hence I have some time to catch up the blog this evening.

Friday 24th January
Took the day off today as annual leave, a bit of time to relax and extend the upcoming long weekend into four days rather than three. It was not a productive day as I spent the majority of it watching the TV, lets call it a sofa day!
Kate came home for a long day at work and we had a chicken shop dinner.

Wednesday 22nd January
Another normal day in the office. Had a coffee in the afternoon with my bosses, bosses boss, so a couple of levels above me. Was a good opportunity to tell him where I'm at and my ideas on how things should be. It was well received I think.
Skyped UK in the evening.

Back to work, a fairly quiet day all up. Drove home after getting the train but actually went to Willoughby for a nice steak and sausage dinner. Spent some time catching up with Adelaide on the phone before a Skype call to UK. Drove back to Lane Cove.
Raining today for the first time in ages.

A lazy day at home with just a short trip to the supermarket before lunchtime, rest of day spent around the flat.

Day One Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy Nine
Saturday 18th January
A really chilled out day at home today, we decided to relax around the flat this weekend and not go shopping etc too much.
We did go and view one of the properties for sale in our building at 11am, its down the back end of the building. It a similar layout to ours but not quite so good and certainly nowhere well as finished as ours is.
The rest of the morning was housework and doing jobs we've been putting off like paperwork etc.
We had some lunch and then watched TV most of the afternoon.
After dinner we went tot eh movies to see Saving Mr Banks, it is a great movie and I recommend people to go and see it. Got home at midnight and off to bed.

Drove into work, its been hot this week and I'm over the train. Had a more productive day today than the rest fothe week, took on some national jobs which kept me busy.
Drove home, well to Willoughby, the traffic wasn't too bad as kids are still off school.
After a cuppa and catch up at Willoughby we headed home and I cooked risotto for dinner.
We had another Skype call with UK, finally got diagnosis on Crystals illness while she was in NZ, a Basilar Migrane of all things, thankfully not a stroke! Very good to see them both bubbly and with a final answer.
Glad its the end of the week.
Still very hot at night in the apartment and we are sleeping with two fans pointed at the bed now to keep cool!

In the evening we did a skype call with the UK, much to the time was spent providing technical support to Alv with his new Iphone, good to have him on latest technology though!

Back to work, alarm set early as Kate has a lot on at work this week doing all the payroll alone. I had a fairly easy day at work and it was a bit more lively as people drift back to work after Christmas break.
Came home and cooked up a spag bol which I served up as Kate arrived home.

Sunday 12th Jan
Another lazy weekend morning, we then picked up Carol form Willoughby and did some shopping and lunch at the chase.
Relaxing afternoon, although Kate caught up on some work.
Skype in evening with folks.

Saturday 11th January
A lazy start to the day followed by some shopping and lunch up at the Westfield, took back some Christmas items and changed them for some more clothes.
We came home and then made our way into town to help Pru celebrate her birthday. We went to the city of Sydney Festival in the Domain. We arrived at about 4pm and chilled out until The Hot Dub Time Machine came on at 8pm followed by Chaka Khan. She was terrible and eventually we left with Caroline and Lee and went ot a little back street bar near Circular Quay.
We left there at about midnight, picked up car from the office, drove through the crazy streets of Sydney and got home at about 1am.

Friday 10th January
Ongoing text updates with Singapore and looking at flight options for H & P. I wont go into details here but it seems it was not as serious as first thought thankfully.
Back in Oz, drove into work today, needed to take car to pick up a load of clothes discarded at the event and take them to charity bin, trying to free up some space for event gear arriving from Melbourne in next few weeks.
Left work at 4.30, drove home via Northbridge to discard clothes, filled car and still have same amount again to discard next week too.
Also forgot to mention I picked up a new Iphone yesterday too in town.

Walked to the station and caught the train to work, was a bit chilly as weather has turned cold over last couple of days. A slow day at work so not much to report there.
Spoke to folks on Skype in the evening, they look in good form.

Tired Tuesday, back to work again, few more of the team in today so a bit more life in the office. Did a few bits of prep work for week long meeting at start of Feb.
Came home, cooked lamb for dinner.
We both went to bed by 10.30, how old we are getting, back to work reality is catching us both up!

Back to work with a bump. None of my colleagues were in today so it was fairly quiet. Didn't get a great deal of actual work done, spent time sifting though emails.
Came home and cooked dinner with Kate. Relaxing in front of TV this evening.

Text message from folks first thing to say they are safely back in Blighty.
An easy morning followed by a trip tot both the Westfield and the Chase to do some shopping and spending of Christmas vouchers.
In the afternoon we dropped some stuff back to Lane Cove and then it was off to the airport (8th time in 6 weeks) to pick up Bill and Carol.
We returned them home and then came back to Lane Cove.
A quiet night at home before the fun of back to work blues tomorrow.

Day One Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty Five

We got up and fed the pets in Willoughby before making our way to the SCG to meet Pru and Paul to spend the day at the second day of the fifth test of the Ashes series. It was a scorching day and we sat in direct sunlight all day.
England played terribly (not that it mattered as they have already lost the first four tests already in the series.
We left at about 5pm to come home to let the dog back inside.
We had a leisurely evening in front of the TV keeping an eye on flight SQ318 as the folks headed back across Europe to home.
We spoke to Adelaide on the phone and caught up with all of them as Bil and Carol spend their last full day in SA with Chris and Hannah.
