Day Six

So its Thursday, a week since we flew from UK, hardly seems like yesterday. Still waiting on bank cards etc so not much to do until then. Kate has been looking at jobs and we continue to track properties. Saturday will be day when we finally visit a number of them on the open inspection days. Things work differently here, instead of booking a viewing, houses are open for example from 1.00 - 1.15 Saturday for inspection. As I understand everyone piles in and views at same time, theres stories of people racing each other down the street to get to agents to lay down deposits. I think things have calmed a bit since then though.

Went out for a nice dinner here, had superb steak and amazing crumble dessert.

Its just round the corner form Bill and carols house where we are living right now.

Oh I also sorted out a Tax FIle number online, the equivalent of our National Insurance number. That should arrive within 28 days. Its not critical to getting jobs though thankfully.

It's rained pretty much all day, in fact pretty much all the time since arriving...pesky winter!

Tommorow maybe some touristy stuff as Kates folks have the day off
