Tuesday 27th March
I dropped Kate to work and then drove to Bunnings to get some bits and pieces needed to fix up a few things around the new flat. The guy from Foxtel turned up early and installed our new Foxtel box during the morning.
Spent more time unpacking and then went back to old flat to clean up. Spent 3 hours sprucing the place up before going to pick up Kate. We grabbed a takeaway and spent more time unpacking.

Day One Thousand and Eighteen
Monday 26th March
Move day from Teneriffe to well erm Teneriffe....Removals guys arrived at 10am and took about 2 hours to get the gear loaded before the 45 second drive to next place. They seemed to take a long time to get things unloaded and I ended up shifting gear too to speed it up as we were paying an hourly rate.
Finally everything was in during the early afternoon and went about unpacking before picking up Kate from work.
We decided where to put the furniture during the evening and crashed out late evening.

A final day of packing the remaining stuff in the flat before the move tomorrow. We own so much stuff!

Day One Thousand and Sixteen
Saturday
We spent the majority of the day packing up the last of our things before our house move on Monday. We did one trip to new place late morning to take some fragile stuff down, mainly glass doors, lamps etc. We grabbed some lunch in New Farm before doing some shopping at the Supermarket.
Came home and spent all afternoon packing. Had some dinner st home and then went to The Tivoli to see Elbow which was superb. I'm uploading some videos to Facebook for all to see.
Tivoli is is a fantastic little venue much like Shepherds Bush Empire but smaller upstairs.

Last day at work before a week off, spent lots of the day wrapping up issues to free me up for a week off.
In the evening Kate and I went for dinner at Liquid and then home to carry on with some packing.

Day One Thousand and Fourteen
Thursday
Another walk along river after getting up and then off to work. A nice day and the office staff surprised me with a morning tea for my birthday next week (as I'm off all next week) which was nice.
Lots of meetings and then headed home.
Slight issue with our trip away next week, the hotel is in administration, it's a mess between the owners and Hyatt....lets see what happens....

Busy day off for me. Got up and went for a walk along the river. Dropped Kate to work, came home and picked up four crates and took them ot new place. Realised why we are paying removalists after lugging them up the stairs. Drove back to old place, picked up some post and then went to Kennards to look at additional units for event. Picked up some gear there and dropped it to office. Drove to New Farm and sorted our postal redirection, and picked up some lunch.
Spent afternoon packing more boxes.
Picked up Kate and headed home for dinner.

Day One Thousand and Twelve
Tuesday
A regular day at work although I spent all day finalising 19 different plans for marshals. Took ages but glad its done. Quick one to one with the boss in the afternoon then came home after picking up Kate.
Also spent 37 minutes n the phone to our Internet provider to get our Internet moved to new place, paying $150 for the privilege and another $9 a month as their plans have changed. Oh well.
Bit more sorting of stuff this evening before bed time.

Day One Thousand and Ten
A day of packing up our stuff for impending move next week.
We also went into the city to do some shopping and had some lunch.

Day One Thousand and Nine
Saturday
Spent some time today packing up some stuff in flat, did some shopping at the supermarket and dinner at home. Its wet today in Brisbane. Also spent time trawling through automated switch boards to start updating our addresses with people.

Day One Thousand and Eight
Friday
Dropped the signed lease back to the manager at new place first thing and then dropped Kate at work. Usual day of work and then after a number of missed calls and messages between me and the manager at new flats found that he had left our keys behind a plant pot near his office.
Picked Kate up and we walked to new place and tailgated someone into the building complex and found our keys. We spent some time measuring it up and planning how we will lay it out when we move in just over a weeks time. It's a bit smaller than our current place especially the bedroom and it also has some hideous light fittings we'll learn to live with for 6 months. Will add some photos in next few days.
We finished up and had dinner and drinks at the London Club, not 2 ft from the front door of the main building.

A day off for me, Kate had a busy day at work. Brought her home, cooked dinner and we skyped the UK.

A long day out in the park with the team. We visited the start, CP1, 2, 5, 6 and may other event locations. Headed home after lots of walking and then went back out just before 9pm to pick up Kate who was doing some overtime.

The big sort out and pack up to move began today. We broke the day up by heading out for lunch at New Farm Deli followed by shopping in Coles. More sorting and packing in the afternoon. We had a movie night at home in the evening and watched The Talented Mr Ripley.

A drive out to Lake Manchester in the morning to to measure up checkpoint site and show our new volunteers coordinator the checkpoint too. Back to the office in the afternoon and then picked Kate up from work. We had a quit night at home.

Day One Thousand
1000.....8th March 2012
So here we are day 1000 and blog posting 1000. Hard to believe I've managed to write this daily post 1000 times!
I'm sure it's not the most exciting read most of the time but a good record of what we have been up to since arriving in Australia.
Hope anybody out there still reading enjoys keeping up with us down under.
Back to normal stuff, another day at work followed by a trip to Chermside shopping centre.
