A day off for me, still using up holiday! Drove out to Chermside late morning to do some shopping for Kate's Birthday at the weekend. I could say what I bought here but Im sure she'll read this so, haha, no comment!
Did some shopping at the supermarket in the afternoon before picking up Kate. Had a Skype call to UK in the evening and watched My Kitchen Rules and screamed at the very annoying Queenslanders on there.

Not much to report today, got lots of stuff done at work and had good conversations with my main contractors.
Fundraising seems to be coming in nicely too.
Had a quiet Valentines night in with Kate.

Back to work reality. A usual day at work getting on with stuff. Brett is off so I'm acting Event Coordinator which sounds fancy but in reality means more emails.

Day Nine Hundred and Seventy Five
Sunday
A lazy day around the house, broken up by a trip tot he supermarket at lunchtime. Had a call with Bill and Carol in the evening and Skype with folks.
In other news weather in UK got down to -18 and Whitney Houston popped her clogs.

Day Nine Hundred and Seventy Four
Got up super early for a Saturday and drove to Newport Marina to catch the Dolphin Cruise. This was one of Kates Birthday presents from last year which we should have done a couple of weeks back but was cancelled due to poor weather.

We had a very nice day sighting Dugongs, Turtles and then we went snorkeling around the Tangolooma Wrecks. This was all going well until we started swimming through the jelly fish which left us both with some unpleasant stings.
We had a nice buffet lunch on the boat before doing some Eco Cruising which was short but well received. We then headed back to the Marina and drove home.
We went to the London club for some dinner and went to bed early.

A relaxed day for me as I had the day off. Have to use up some annual leave in the first half of the year. Picked Kate up form work, did some food shopping and headed home.

Day Nine Hundred and Seventy Two

Information night for work. After morning in the office we all headed down to Brisbane Convention Centre and did two sessions. The first had about 110 people, the second 350+. All went very well I think although I thought I was repeating myself a bit.
Kate came down after work and met me there and it was nice to have her support there.

Day Nine Hundred and Seventy
After dropping Kate to work I headed to Kennards to measure and weigh my stuff m shipping to Melbourne.
Rest of day was spent in the office doing more prep for Thursday night as well as a number of meetings.

Day Nine Hundred and Sixty Nine

A busy day at work preparing slides for our info night on Thursday, potentially I'll be chatting to up to 600 people on Thursday night, I find it strange it doesn't phase me.
Had a risotto for dinner which was very nice even if I say so myself.

Day Nine Hundred and SIxty Eight
Sunday
A morning of chores around the house. We didn't sleep well as they had a monster party upstairs which wrapped up at 2.45am after at least 3 neighbours banged on their door to tell them to shut up. Amazing what you can hear through the ceiling when you are tuned into it in the early hours.
This evening we went to the Moonlight Cinema at the Powerhouse. We saw The Iron Lady, was OK, maybe a 7/10, bit too much focus on the hallucinations of Dennis than the historical events through her leadership.

Got up early and drove up the mountain to help out our friends at TRAQ at their Mt Glorious Event (the same place we start TW). Was good to help out although it was quite hot even up the mountain.

A good meeting with the parks guys today, got our comms plan in place.
All afternoon was spent in Kennards packing gear to send to Melbourne next week, here is work in progress and final result...
I picked up Kate and we went out to Liquid just down the road for dinner. Came home and watched a movie at home.

A sunny day in Brisbane, and a good productive day at work. We had a nice Italian Anti Pasti dinner at home this evening.

More interviews at work today, so again day disappeared. Took delivery of pack from UK today which is good, more UK telly on DVDs!

Back to work and 2 interviews for our Volunteers Coordinator. That took up much of the day. Picked up Kate and quiet night at home. The delightful 'My Kitchen Rules' is back on the tele, I'm trying to avoid watching it but Kate is already hooked in!

Day Nine Hundred and Sixty One

Still raining in Brisbane! A day around the house sorting chores out, 6 loads of washing, some ironing etc. I spent a good three hours in the afternoon sorting out photos on the computer. Deleted lots of duplicates and sorted stuff into folders.
Need to sort out photos on laptop and copy them across too.

Day Nine Hundred and Sixty

A quiet day, Kate got up late after a sleep in and we headed down to New Farm to get some groceries and lunch.
A quiet afternoon in doing chores and dinner at home. Still raining here in QLD.

Day Nine Hundred and Fifty Nine
A very quiet day at work, I was the only member of staff in the office. I did a trip to Kennards in the morning to drop some stuff off and clear out all the clothes form last years event. I filled the charity bin at the Asthma place opposite.
Picked up Kate at 4.30 and we headed home. Spoke to Carol in the evening.
Thought about Bill who was in his last shift at work after 50 years. Maybe I'll give him access to this blog so he can pick up my typos and keep his hand in!
